Massachusetts Bishops speak up for elderly and disabled

The four bishops of Massachusetts submitted a letter to the chairs of both the Senate and House Ways & Means Committees in support of increased funding for a program providing emergency assistance to older persons, children and persons with disabilities. In part the measure would provide stop-gap assistance to people applying for Social Security benefits.
